    Watering system

I wish it was that easy. I tried to clean the pot out last night to find something very hard and crusted to the inside of the pot. As stated, I have no idea what it was used for or what is in it now, but not going to chance using this pot. I have found someone in my area selling 15 gal. barrels...

    Watering system

I'm I the process of setting up a system. I have found an aluminum pot that is tapped at the bottom. I have no clue as to what this pot was used for. It is 17" in diameter , and 17.5" deep. Is aluminum ok to use with chickens or should I look for something else? Thanks.

    The brood is started

The chicks are now a week old. Still have all six so we must be doing something right. Their feathers have started and they are now trying to fly. So I put in a roost for em. Funny to watch em climb up and jump on each other.

    The brood is started

Picked up these young lasses last night. At first didn't think they took the stress of being moved well. All they did was sleep. This morning they were raisin cane. I'm pretty sure I got the heat right, at 90 degrees, as they don't huddle or stay just under the lamp. So far the only concern I...

    First try with chickens

Got most of coop closed in and the roof on. We had some high winds on Saturday witch gave me the roost. A little more plywood, a door, nesting boxes, the metal siding, and some welded wire, the coop will be done. How do you like my ladder. One of the pallets I got to build the coop.

    First try with chickens

This is our first attempt at raising chickens. Today I started building the coop. I just can't stand seeing things go to waste so here's what i'm using for lumber. It's pallets that our material comes on at work. These go to a dumpster when they are empty, free if we want em. This is how far...
