To my surprise yesterday my daughter got the eggs from the nest and one of the eggs is HUGE I mean I cannot even close the egg carton. I am new to all of this so to me this looks funny. My girls are only 20 weeks and I know their eggs started off small, but man I have one that is already laying...
I have seen them squat, I have even seen them hanging in on the nests, but no production, and every time I hear their song I try to check, but end up with no egg. I usually find one mid morning and one late afternoon. I guess I am just being anxious I love going out and seeing the eggs.
I have 6 chickens approximately 16 weeks old, I have 2 that seem to be laying, I presently am getting about 1-2 eggs a day, inconsistently though they seem to skip a day here and there. Is that normal? And when do the rest of the girls start producing? I wish I could tell you the type of chicken...
Congrats on the new egg, I just got mine yesterday as well, it was so exciting. I looked all day today though and no more eggs. Cant wait for my next one, hope it comes soon.
