Absolutely agree and love this article! Thank you for sharing!
I had a RI rooster pass away in October I was sad and still feel sad he wasn't a bird that liked being picked up and held but he would hang around me while I worked in the yard or sat to relax with a beer just like a dog. I loved...
I read thru most of your posts so sorry for the inconvenience and losses. Unfortunately sometimes its how we learn is from our mistakes. I live in Massachusetts between Providence and Boston. I've seen enough wildlife to know I had to make a chicken-fortknox pen but I still experienced an event...
I just applied this spray this past weekend. I did read that there may need to be a few applications done over several weeks. We'll see how well this works.
Besides trying to keep it clean with an antibiotic spray I bought at TSC
is there anything else I should be doing?
Her behavior is normal, she's eating, and drinking water and generally acting

It is acting lethargic and not eating or drinking...
There are a few people here and there that say it is hereditary? Some say
it is an "itis" of some sort. No one really knows. Some have never heard of lash egg.
Very puzzling.
Here's some crazy questions.
I'm just discovering that one maybe two of my laying hens has what is called "lash egg". I've read that it
is the end of the road for the layers when they catch this dreaded infection.
I am going to have to depopulate my flock (5) and clean and disinfect...
Well, now I finally get to plant my pictures in this thread. These pictures are
what I found. I thought one of
my hens ate a piece of insulating foam, or worse I might have an egg eater, but now I wonder about this lash egg. Even my 'Raising
Chickens for Dummies' book did not mention this...
