    Random Flock Pictures, Just Because

I wish I had that option, hatcheries are pretty much production birds in my province. You get your reds, you get your whites, you get your BRs and your meats. That's about it. Local breeders are pretty much the only option.

I'm jealous of your silver laced. It seems all I could get my hands on was gold laced birds, and I've got a weakness for the contrast the silver giges

What breed is your favorite in your flock?

This is Goldie, my GLWx, I know she was part of some Olive Egger breeding project, but she's my absolute favorite out of my current flock. She's absolutely head over heelsnin love with me and I hear, she's always at my side if I'm out in the yard, and always needs a cuddle at the end of the...

    Canadians check in here....

Looks like it's been a few days since I've checked in! A warm belated welcome from another Ontarian! I don't know, it seems fairly seasonal smack dab in the middle of the province.. You know, damp, chilly, grey. All seems about right. But on a side note, Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! I...

Bloody poop in chicken who started laying when it was 17 weeks

Does she just have this kind of poop right after she lays then? Or does every poop she has look like that?

Bloody poop in chicken who started laying when it was 17 weeks

I'm thinking that looks a lot like intestinal shed, as long as its not every poop. That's not every poop is it? How often does she drop these? Every poop? Once a day? Maybe someone will hop in with a second opinion. Let me wrack my brain on which members to tag that might be an expert on the...

Bloody poop in chicken who started laying when it was 17 weeks

Are we talking a little smear? Right after laying or just randomly when she poops? There can be some tearing with the first egg or two, so it's not uncommon to see a blood smear on an egg. You could be seeing intestinal lining shed, which sometimes does appear bloody, but it could also be...
