they are submissive to the rooster. One hen has started going into the coop and messing up all the pine and kinda squatting with her back end up. Their combs are all pretty red now. I'm thinking it must be any day.
So my birds will be one year old this july. Still haven't start laying eggs but the rooster the past few weeks has finally starting being "Active". I should probably expect to start getting eggs any day now correct? I'm guessing since he has finally matured that the hens hopefully are close as...

Good to know. I just took them not even knowing they would be gamefowl. Don't know much about them really. I thought they were crows when they showed up lol. Here they are mingling with my orpingtons.
Thanks for the feedback. I have 1 lavender orpington rooster, and 3 lavender orpington hens to go with the 3 sid taylor hens. Wanted to make sure they would be ok together. They get along fine right now. My rooster just started crowing and my orpington hens are not far away from producing eggs.
anyone familiar with Sid Taylor hens? I had a lady give me 3 4 month old hens to go with my 5 month old lavender orpingtons. They had no problem with getting to know eachother and get along great. Just trying to gather some info on the breed. Basically what I can find online is the roosters are...
these are my first flock of chickens. I’ve raised this flock since they hatched. They are getting so big and beautiful!! Been so fun watching them grow!

I believe they are lavender. I picked up from a straight run. I think I have 5 hens and 1 rooster based on watching them. We shall see if i am right. lol
