    Lonely Gander

I was always under the impression that you couldnt visually tell the sex on a buff. But I've been doing a ton of research, and with embdens, some folks have said the ganders bill and feet are much brighter. Here is a picture of the two before they feathered. The remaining one, crush, is on the...

    Central Oregon

I am east of Klamath Falls and just lost my goose to a pair of American Buffs :( . The gander is absolutely heartbroken so I need to find him a buddy ASAP. If anyone is interested in giving up a extra goose (I really don't care which sex at this point), I will pay whatever and willing to...

    Oregon

I am in Southern Oregon (50 miles East of Klamath Falls to be exact) and just lost my goose to a pair of American Buffs :( . The gander is absolutely heartbroken so I need to find him a buddy ASAP. If anyone is interested in giving up a extra (I really don't care which sex at this point), I will...

    Lonely Gander

I think I founds a embden pair from this spring. How would you go about an introduction? I know this question sounds silly, but will he feel left out since they're already a bonded pair? Or will they include him as their own? Thanks for all of the information Miss Lydia!

So you think getting any other breed would be fine? Would a goose or gander matter? I can find another breed pretty easily. I'm in Southern Oregon and willing to travel if anyone has one to spare!!! Thanks soo much!

    Lonely Gander

We just lost the goose to our only pair :( I am absolutely heart broken! the remaining appears to be fine, but is he really? Should I get him another buddy? The pair have been together since right after hatching. They're American Buffs and finding another in my area is going to be quite difficult.

American(Buff, Blue, Lavander, etc.)goose thread! Post pics!

They are adorable, but wow! They look much more feathered than my babies. I will look for some vitamins this evening! Thank you! Yes to food grade DE, but maybe I'll try slacking off on that, I have 12 chickens so I was a little paranoid about them contracting something to the goslings. I am...

    Barred Rock Roo or Hen?

The hackles are slightly pointed (much less compared to my Americana rooster, but I was attributing that to being a different breed) but yes, the saddle feathers seem awfully rounded (which is what is throwing me off). I suppose I could just be patient :)

American(Buff, Blue, Lavander, etc.)goose thread! Post pics!

She (we have deemed the small one a she and the big one a he just by default), may not go quite as crazy over food and grazing as the big one, but she is still a pretty hardy eater. I have been giving a pinch of DE here and there and was contemplating beginning apple cider vinegar to make sure...

    Barred Rock Roo or Hen?

Even that first one? It's body shape and feathering is much more "full" than the others. Perhaps just developing a little quicker? Thanks guys!

I'm having a similar problem with my 5 week old buffs (picture below)! What sort of vitamins?

American(Buff, Blue, Lavander, etc.)goose thread! Post pics!

This is Crush (the big one in the pool and then in the kitchen on the right) and Marlin! 5 week old Buffs (they hatched within a few days of each other). We had a scare with Marlin when she was about 2 weeks. The dog tried playing with her and pawed her in just the right spot. We have no idea...

    Barred Rock Roo or Hen?

I have 4 BR's who are about 12 weeks old. I have a feeling one or two are Roos but I am not positive (the first one in the pictures below especially). Any incite would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! Sorry the pictures aren't the best quality - posing isn't exactly a chicken's strong...
