I have a question about wood chips. I bought some pine shavings for the coop but now the power company needs to cut down one if our blue spruce trees that's in the power line. Would those wood chips be ok?

I am up in the white mountains. I'm looking for eggs but also as a pet. Was thinking maybe a couple silkies, araucanas or ameraucanas or cream legbar, Easter Eggers, Black Copper Maran or welsummer or pendesenca. I'm kinda looking for a variation I guess.

Is there anyone in Arizona selling baby chicks or am I better off ordering from a hatchery? If so any suggestions on hatcheries? I'm brand new to chickens and am kind of wanting a variety of breeds. Thank you for any help.
