The breeds have died are a Barnevelder, Cream legbar and a black australorp. The ones that are not doing well are several different breeds as well. Yes it does seem to be heat I would think, Giving them electrolytes and have a fan on them as well in the shade. Anything else to help them?

Put her food and water and no bedding. Mine I leave in for 48 hours and then presto, no more broodiness. I have a blue laced...

Homeowner's Association Battle in Baton Rouge

We have had our 3 hens for a little over a year now. I checked my association rules before we got them and I did miss the part about no poultry. In EBRP you can have 3 hens legally. I am now in the process of amending the bylaws or asking for variance. I have talked to all my surrounding...

    Broody Hen

Coop isn't big enough for the cage. Yeah, I thought something could get her. We have a secure storage area that they couldn't get it into. I'll move her in there at night... THanks for response!!

    Broody Hen

I have my broody Buff Orpington in a medium sized wire cage. It is on the porch with a large fan on it, it's Louisiana August heat here. Should I put here in with the others at night or is it safe to keep her contained in cage at night. I'm worried about possums and raccoons. We have had a few...
