A friend is in the Carr fire zone in Northern CA (Redding) and may need to find temporary housing for her 14 hens. Anyone in Redding, CA have an extra coop/enclosure?
Bought, mixed, used all in the same day. No other hens have mites that I can see, just my separated Sizzle and they all seem to be on her head. So if the spray didn’t work, nor did the powder, what else can I try?
Update: hen is still separated and is slowly healing, but she still has mites. I bought permethrin 10 and the spray can from TSC and sprayed the girls and the coop. Still mites. This morning I dusted her with garden and poultry dust. Still mites. They seem to be mostly on her head and neck...
I have a toddler who is over her pouches so I have TONS of apple sauce . I’ll add that and eggs. She’s been going to oatmeal and today I added some plain yogurt.
Thanks! I soaked her again today. The wounds are continuing to heal, but I still saw mites. So I’m headed to TSC to grab some of the spray if I can. Poor girl. She seems skinny. I’ve watched her eat, but haven’t seen her drink. Trying to give her water, but I’d feel so much better to see her...
I’ve been dealing with a bout of flystrike with my Sizzle. She has two open wounds on her rump that are slowly healing. (Separated, inside, no more maggots, eating, treating the wounds with spray and salve from TSC). I gave her a dose of ivermectin (drops on her back) to help combat the maggots...
I have one hen that is definitely the "black sheep" -- our Sultan. Most of the other hens keep her at a distance during the day. It isn't as extreme as your situation, but I feel you. I too want them to be nicer, but what can you do. I have always gotten my chicks and pullets in groups of 2 or...
Here is a link to the video of the sebright crowing. For some reason the order of the video got messed up. I tried to edit it. She should start to crow after 15 to 20 seconds max. Dumb youtube.

I posted something similar earlier this morning: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/851583/2-hens-crowing-is-there-anything-i-can-do-to-lessen-or-stop-this#post_12715620 Someone has made a suggestion of a few things to try. Check it out.
I will follow your post to see what you find out.

One of the hens might be roaring -- it sounds like a funny sounding crow. But the sebright is definitely crowing. I will post a video. They have tons of space and free range most of the day, twice as much as the space you will see in the video -- basically the entire backyard. They have a...
I have two hens that are crowing. One is ~2 and the other is ~1. They lay eggs and are definitely adult females. And what i am talking about is definitely crowing, not loud squawking. they do that too, but that isnt what i am referring to. I live in a city where roosters are not allowed. I am...
No parasites. I check regularly because I've been so concerned.
Does it make sense that these two would be molting, but not the others? I don't know much about chicken molting
