    Do you have any Vic's Vapor Rub? Try putting it on her wound and she will quit pecking at it because of the bad taste. Hopefully it can heal. Good old cooking flour works well to stop the blood flow.

    Will an electric fence that is for cows, kill or maim chickens, ducks and turkeys?

    I prefer the wide white tape electric fencing. Place close together it keeps the poultry and animals in. A very visible fence that they do not run into! My turkeys and chickens have touched a regular wire electric fence and went right on thru it once their head was thru it. make sense?

    I place the waterer out in my pens as well as a pan of feed for the timid ones who run out the minute the drop door is opened. I then put feed in their hanging feeder in their coop. In cold weather I keep the waterer inside the coop on a heated base.

    That could be from an internal problem. While chicks are growing they sometimes have what is called "failure to thrive" which means their unable to utilize their food and water. So sorry.
