Okay, so not only does our poor Apples have a respiratory infection, while medicating her four days ago we noticed that her breast was swollen and fluid filled...she has sour crop too. So my mom started flipping her over and going through the whole thing. Apples doesn't really like yogurt, but we managed to pick up some Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (with the "mother"). So between the vinegar and the Tylan50 she seems to be doing very well, or at least much improved! She's eating more now and drinking plenty, and she's talking to us again. She seems really interested in the baby chicks, and when they peep she tries to cluck at them but it freaks the chicks out (they can't see her and haven't met a big hen!).
So, all in all, things are going well for her! The swelling has gone down and she seems pretty content now that she's being taken care of.
Thanks for all of the help guys, I will continue posting occasional updates as she hopefully continues getting better!
Hey guys I was reading this story as I have a baby chicken with similar problems he ingorged himself with water and his crop was very full he was gasping for air so I tipped him upside down for a few seconds and a lot came out he calmed down after a few minutes of holding him but this morning he’s still sneezing so I’m curious of 2 things. Will the tylon50 work for him he’s pretty young still and I also raise pheasants. Is tylon50 something I should keep in house for them as well???? Thanks for the feed back
