I think this is bumblefoot? It's weird because she was limping a couple weeks ago but got better in a few days. Now she has this. My husband got some pus out of it yesterday but she is still badly limping today. Ive read on this forum to use tricide neo dip but I can only find it online. Is that...

Sorry about your eggs @duckieduck.
My girl seems to have given up. One of the other hens was in the house with her this morning and they both left the coop together. I was able to get most of the eggs and she spent most of the day browsing with the others. Whew, I won't let that happen again!
Yikes. This is sounding a bit like ripping off the bandaid. I don't want her to go through any unnecessary stress. They don't actually let themselves starve for setting on a nest do they?? Ugh, poor baby.
eggbert420 I am actually considering that.
One of our Welshies has gone broody over some eggs we missed in the duck house. They are not fertile. She will not leave the house for anything and hisses when we get too close. I really feel for her but I'm worried that she's not eating or drinking. Do I let her figure it out on her own or...
My mallard started laying for the first time a couple months ago, though I live in Ca. Thankfully she finally found the nesting house and lym in their. When she first started she just plopped them out wherever. The muck by the water seemed to be a favorite.. And right by the food. Guess she...
I know that straight chicken poop can be too hot for plants.. So I've started using my duck water as fertilizer. Some of my plants seem to go NUTS for it, particularly the Friendship Sage (salvia) I planted for the hummingbirds. It makes sense that the nitrogen loving plants would appreciate...
I used Flock Raiser crumbles, supplemented with Brewers Yeast. My ducklings did just fine. It's very hard to find feed specifically for ducks.. At least it is here. Good luck! :)
I'm following this thread, without much hope. I won't use poison, as I don't want to contribute to secondary poisoning of the local raptors.
One thing you could do, if you haven't already, is give your county Vector Control a call. They give away several free (and very nice) traps. They can...
My mallard just started laying two weeks ago, but I'm also in California- don't know if that matters.
The hens mating eachother is normal. My dominant duck mounts the other ones all the time- but then she asks to be mounted too. Get that girl a drake, lol.
Poison's no good because they could die in your walls. I'd set traps. You can even get free ones from the county- at least you can here.
We had one die and get stuck somewhere above our bedroom. Nothing quite smells like rotting rodent. We were stuck with that smell for months.
