    BLRW coloring question!

I kinda hope so. But the breeder I got them from, her splashes look like the second pic. And her blues have a darker grey on them.

    BLRW coloring question!

Wondering what my two blue laced red Wyandotte chicks will look like when they mature? They are both splash :) Here is what they look like now: (taken at dusk where they look a bit more grey) (taken mid-day) Currently they are brown and white, but I’m wondering will they turn out like...

Is my Cuckoo Maran a roo?

Okay thanks! I just want to be very sure before sending this little guy off to a new home.

Is my Cuckoo Maran a roo?

See I’m just not sure, because hens have red combs too. Like this pic I found on the internet, similar to others I’ve seen.

Is my Cuckoo Maran a roo?

UPDATE*** Okay everyone! I’m the original poster who showed y’all the pic of my cuckoo maran. I suspect it is about 8 weeks old. Most of you told me it was a roo, but I honestly don’t think I can say that it is. Here are some pics I just took tonight. What do you think?

    Wyandotte chicks! Are they pullets?

I can’t say for sure. We got the blue laced at one day old and the two splash at about 2 weeks old.

    Wyandotte chicks! Are they pullets?

I have three BLRW chicks that are 6 weeks old. Can anyone tell me if they are male or female? ***the brown one doesn’t have as many feathers because 1. The breeder I got her from says she has a slow feathering gene. And 2. She was picked on by another chick that we have since removed.*** #1...

My Puppy Keeps 'Nomming' and Licking My Chicken

Our puppy gave me a scare yesterday. One of our chickens got out of the run through a hole in the wire, and when I walked outside I saw our puppy SITTING on her. She had her head to the ground and mouth open...I thought she was dead. But she was actually just fine, except for the trauma. It...

Been lurking forever- now I’m all signed up!

Our coop is ventilated on the backside where the roof meets the wall. In our part of Oregon, it rarely frosts. We get more rain than freezing temperatures.

Ah yes! Pictures! Our hens. 2 buffs, 2 EE’s, 1 silver laced wyandottes. Our chicks (the black one is a roo and will be going to a bird sanctuary. Don’t know about the others yet!) 3 Blue laced red wyandottes, 1 legbar, and 1 cuckoo maran roo. Our coop that my husband built from a garden...

Hey all! I live in Oregon and I’ve got 5 grown hens and 4 little chickies. The breeds we have Buff Orpingtons, Easter Eggers, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, and Cream Crested Legbar. I don’t have any other friends that adore raising chickens like I do, so I decided to join...

Is my Cuckoo Maran a roo?

Our other chicks were autosexed female from birth. But yeah, I won’t transfer him until he’s off the lamp at around 8 weeks. :)

Is my Cuckoo Maran a roo?

Well, I’m not grilled about his but THANKS everyone! I have a friend who will gladly take him into her flock, so he can just go live with her now. Haha. We live in the middle of town, so we can’t have Roos. :/

Is my Cuckoo Maran a roo?

Also, it *may* be possible that it is 6 six weeks old. If so, any chance it’s a pullet? I appreciate the input, y’all. I’m still new to raising chicks.
