    Thank you.. I have pine shavings in the tub.. I got a new clean tub and pine shavings.. inspected the chicks and dotted them with seven dust on vent and under wings... Hope this works... Disposed of old shaving and disinfected tub. Thanks for your comments..

    We are just hatching some baby chicks (incubator) and have found some mites in the brooder - rubbermaid tub - We have pine shavings in there and I am not sure where the mites came from but can see tiny brown mites crawling in the pine shavings and on the sides of the tub? What is the best...

    Broody silkie hen - needs eggs.. Fridge eggs okay?

    I went ahead and placed 6 eggs that I had in the fridge under her. So I will check the candle thing in 7 days. So exactly how do you do that? I haven't done that before... just hold them up to a candle to see if there is anything developing? Thanks for the replies! I appreciate it.

    I have a silkie hen that just went broody. I want to let her sit but I didn't know she was going broody until yesterday and she doesn't have eggs because we have been getting them. Can I let eggs I have already refridgerated come to room temp and put them under her? And how old can the eggs...

    I have a sick hen with a runny nose, she is very lethargic, will eat and drink some but mostly sits alone with eyes closed. I have put VetRX in her nostrals and drinking water but this doesn't seem to help her. It doesn't hurt her but I really see no improvement. I was told to get some cattle...
