So this is our second hatch :D When I got my bator in Feb I wanted to hatch BCM's and found eggs on craigslist. We followed the directions and I added one of my own EE eggs as a kind of control egg. On day 19 we had 5 BCM's hatch (one died soon after) and my EE hatched as well! So then I got...
This is one of my sleeping EE's.
These are a couple of fuzzies that like to wrap up together. (Cornish Rocks with a bantam in the middle). They were in my dining room this time.
I have one JUST like that one. I had no idea even what to try to look at for her/him. It's my tiniest (and my favorite). My kids called it my pocket buddy. It likes to just lay on m and cuddle down as long I let it. :0) So now I can at least have an idea of what to look up! Thanks...
I took my chicks outside last week on a warm sunny day. This weekend they were outside both days for a couple of hours with supervision. They had a blast running in the grass and pecking at ANYTHING that moved! LOL The kids and I had a great time watching chicky football. If one chick found...
I asked this last week I had some that were a wk-ish old and was running by TSC to see what they had in. I had 20 chicks at home and came back with 10 more! LOL They are all doing fine. I was told that a week maybe 2 is an ok age spacer, ya know what I mean? Good luck and enjoy!!
When it was time to clean out the brooders, it was nice and warm and SUNNY!! So I took the brooders out in the yard, deposited the chicks on the grass and cleaned out their homes. It was soooo much fun and they were so cute!! They had NO clue what to do. They all just stood around and looked...
Well that does make sense. I don't know what she was doing or why, and I'm willing to bet the TSC guy didn't either. I'm going to guess that since everyone wants to know the sex of the chicks before they buy them, that maybe he just "assumed" she was sexing them; and that I might do it too...
Oh no, he was kind enough to demonstrate without actually holding a chick. It looked like he smelling a plate of food. He even asked a co-worker if he saw the lady smelling the chicks. The guy said it was one of the strangest things he seen so far at TSC.
Congrats on the total cuteness going on there!! I just got 10 Ameracaunas this afternoon! I'm sooo excited and can't wait to see how they feather out! Beautiful babies
