I free range too, and I've learned that loss of birds to predators is pretty much impossible to predict. Try keeping them in the coop for a few days and see if you can possibly trap whatever is attacking them.
I live in Florida about 4 miles from the Atlantic ocean. Generally if we get hurricane force winds i bring my chickens in the garage, tropical storm or below i leave em in the coop, they keep themselves out of the run. Good luck and stay safe!
Does anyone have some good ideas for eating quails eggs? we have a lot of them and need to get rid of them. I would love to put them to some use though. Any good ideas or recipies?

Has anyone ever gotten an egg that had an egg formed inside of it? We recently did and the one on the inside had the yolk in it. There was two complete shells. It was very strange so we're just wondering if anyone has come across this. Thanks
