Plan for lots of flies with that many chickens.

Help! My wife is mad at me for feeding the chickens pizza!

Species appropriate diet based on how they evolved. That goes for dogs, cats, cows, horses, humans. Directly connected to health and risk factors for longevity. You are what you eat right, so feeding chickens poor quality diet for their species will devalue the nutrition of your eggs.

Help! My wife is mad at me for feeding the chickens pizza!

I think you're idea is good for pigs but chicken's don't have the right enzymes to digest such things. I have chickens so I control what they eat and control what my egg is made with. Pesticides and herbicides do get into the egg so to me, why bother having your own hens; it's much easy and...

    Vaccinate or Not

Science does not support your position, only the propaganda. And if you would like me to post the peer reviewed science I will be happy to do so. We can start with this one: Abstract Title: Detection of vaccine-derived rotavirus strains in nonimmunocompromised children up to 3-6 months after...

    Vaccinate or Not

I think the greatest risk for our birds are pool quality foods. All foods, no matter what we buy the feed is as nutrient depleted as human food. And if one chooses GMO soy and corn vs organic feed that is really bad for the animals and the food you eat from them. I grow organic cannabis and...

    Vaccinate or Not

Children get 64 shots by 18 years of age, that's not a "few" vaccinations.

    Vaccinate or Not

This is how the human vaccines work too. That's why we will never eliminate the viruses we vaccinate for. Pertussis, whooping cough, is spread this way.

So you have hiding places, I do too. Lots of bushes and one table in the middle of the area. I like your idea of more smaller areas but they certainly have to get in there. I thought I might need ways to keep the birds from being able to fly in and take off but I also don't know their flight...

I think a bobcat has a territory and will find its way back. How does a rooster help? I've heard that b4 but I don't understand the behavior. Are they more alert to danger than the hens? I can have a rooster but so far hubby has said no due to noise. But please tell me more! Thanks in advance.

I have too many girls for a tractor I think (17), but it is a good one to consider. I love that tree too, it's a lime tree (which is better I think) that does pose some constraint on the design of the fence since I don't want to take it out.

Hello, I have a bobcat and hawk problem. After 2 1/2 years with no losses, yesterday I lost 4 birds to hawks. My girls are in a fenced area but the area is large enough for the hawks to grab them. Until I solve this they will have to stay in the coop unless I let them out late afternoon and...
