Hello all! I have not been active on here recently until something attacked one of my hens. What I assume was a fox, had seemingly either take a bite out of her thigh/side or ripped it open? I quickly put together a solitary place for her and doused her bite with saline, then betadine. I covered...
Hello, I have a coop built for 20-30 chickens and was considering switching to sand in the coop instead of pine shavings. Of course i will stick to hay or shavings for the nesting boxes, but as for the rest of the coop what are y'alls opinions? I heard it is easier to clean and is less...
Hello i have 13 hens and 1 rooster in a 20 chicken coop. They have 5 nesting boxes, but only use 2. Over the winter they have been breaking their eggs and eating them, even though they had full access to their feed and full access to outside. I thought they would maybe stop while we're heading...
So, my chickens have had a bad habit of eating their own eggs. So, it was suggested that I put mustard in their eggs, so I did. And my chickens cracked open the mustard eggs ate it and loved it! :lau Is there anything else I can put in the egg that chickens don't like? Thanks!

Hello, I have about 2 year old chickens and even the beginning of this winter is rough. I was seeing a lot about deep liter methods in chickens coops and was wondering what you guys think about it. Is it a good idea for chickens? And is it really hard to clean out when you eventually do. Just...
