I found my second egg! This one is double the size of my first. I block off the nesting boxes with plastic panels at night because they sleep and poop in them. I remove them in the morning, when I let them out into the run, before I leave for work. I came home yesterday and realized I forgot to...

Here is my first egg that I found last night!!! My 6 girls were 18 weeks to the day... I wonder who laid it tho? One of the New Hampshire's or one of the Silver Laced Wyandotte's? They wouldn't tell me yesterday.

Everynight my girls will be waiting at the door way of their hen house for me to put them to bed...all of them in there, with their heads popping out, watching for me to come walking down the hill.

I have 6 girlies and this is my first time raising chickens. I have learned so much from this site, but I can't find any forums regarding this...I mow my yard once a week and I have been emptying the mower bag of grass clippings into my chicken run. I sprinkle some DE around and rake it all out...

This is Carrie. Only 16 weeks old.

This is mine at 7 or 8 weeks....No waddles at all.

LeviS- obviously I am new at this since I asked about the sex of my birds...but I don't think mine had any sign of waddles at that age.

#2 was really the only one I was worried about because of the tail feathers. They have a green sheen in the sunlight. They all developed their reddish waddles at the same time tho. I named that one Shania and was almost certain I would have to change that to Twain. See what I did there? LOL!
