Ok so the oldest egg was 7 days old. They were all stored at room temperature before going in. I never washed or treated them. Is it necessary they are stored pointy end down before going into the incubator? Half the eggs are porous, will that have an effect? I'll give them another candle...

Thank you :) I was worried the blastodisc was too small but apparently the fresher thee egg the smaller it is. I was surprised that the rooster was placed with the hens for only a week and some of the girls are already fertile!

Yes the egg was layed that day. I think I'll start collecting a few and try incubating and candling :)

Thanks for the responses. There is a ring which is hard to see in the pictures. My concern is that it's quite small, does that make a difference?

There's a white ring, kind of hard to see in the pic i think. Is it too small to be fertile?
