Safe to eat eggs after flea treatment?

Dog got fleas, then passed them to hens (who we had just gotten over a case of mites thanks to Sevin dust). Treated all the animals with Adams one-spot flea treatment and the girls have finally started laying again. Is it safe to eat the eggs?

Not sure if broody or egg bound

Do you think it could be a prolapse? I don't see any red/pink (her outside skin is black), but the top half of her ******** looks sort of fat/swollen

Not sure if broody or egg bound

Since I put her in the bath, it looked like she pooped a little, but no major bowel movements.

Not sure if broody or egg bound

Not sure if my hen is broody or egg bound. She hasn't laid for two days now, and the last time she laid, she laid an egg with a weird shell - it felt normal, but when I tapped it, it sounded metallic. She was sitting most of the day in the coop with her tail very high up. When I looked at her...

    Egg shell sounds metallic

Lol! Thanks, Chickensaresweet - no pranksters - just me and my bf here, and I'm the only one who really deals with the chickens - plus I'm sure he would've come clean by now on a joke like that hahaha. My bf said he thought maybe it has more calcium from the greens we fed them two days ago...

    Egg shell sounds metallic

The strangest thing happened today. Normally, when I tap the shell of my girls' eggs, it sounds, well, like an egg. But today, I tapped the shell of an egg laid today, and it had this very distinctly metallic sound to it. It really sounds like the shell is made of metal - it's so weird! I...

    Is it red mites?

Okay, I'm pretty sure I have a red mite problem.... and I'm pretty sure it maybe in my own house now. My hens come inside the house to an indoor coop in the evening. For a few weeks, I have been finding these very, small grey bugs around my house I didn't think much of them - thought maybe...

For those who use sand in run - is it safe to scatter food in sand? Need grit?

Thanks Ol Grey and Chris. I am using commercial grade medium sand. Ol Grey, does it make a difference if we are talking bantams? My girls are only 3 months old and smaller than rabbits!

    Chickens refuse to use coop

Perhaps under the coop seems like the more obvious place to go than into the coop. Are they going from a run into the coop or from free-ranging into the coop? Perhaps you could put some chicken wire around the bottom perimeter of your coop. This would help keep out predators and rats too!

For those who use sand in run - is it safe to scatter food in sand? Need grit?

Hi noob here! I have a run with an all construction-grade sand floor because where I live only has a concrete "yard" and sod just doesn't seem manageable to keep alive. Is it safe for me to scatter/bury scratch or dried mealworms in the sand for them to dig around and find? I'm worried...
