    Well all my hens survived the Texas Deep Freeze. They stayed in the Omlet coop with extra bedding, food and water. Checked on them with fresh water and treats twice a day. I even had 4 eggs laid during this time. Feeing very good about our success. It is 59 today and they are loving the sun!

    i posted earlier that I had 3 hens who were 6 to 7 mos old and had not laid. Well about 11/2 weeks ago Easter Egger started laying and we have 6 eggs from her. BUT still nothing from the Barnvelder or Orpington. Any ideas!

    i have 3 hens but one will empty the nest box of all the bedding as soon as I clean it and put in fresh. They are 61/2 mos and are not laying yet. Combs and face areas bright red. Could this be a pre-laying behavior.
