Oooh thank you for this! I googled it lol and if I can pin point it, I would say they started molting early November. I will have to try them on these proteins! Ty so much for sharing 💓
I don't think I could do that atleast not right now. I'm not in a place where I can spend any money outside of my setup budget. I was looking up molting and they started molting early November. At this point, I can keep doing my best of keeping them comfortable lol
Awww hehehe I love the beach but need that sun! I hope you find more ways to get through the hot months! 💨
Yeah, they're pretty much pricey pets right now. Do you do anything different for them once it gets cold? Place a light for them? Or change their feed?
👋🏽 I have 2 that are a year old, a Rhode Island Red and an EE. They both layed a nice amount of eggs throughout the summer. I also have a sebright not sure of her age, she also laid religiously. I have a second EE who is 11 months; she has not laid at all.
How do I know if they are molting?
Good morning yll! Who's loving this 60°-79° weather?
Not me! I'm a sun child 🌞 i need me 80-90° min.
And also my girls haven't laid since the rain started in Oct. 😭 it's my first winter with layers... do they completely stop laying in the lower temps? Please help!
Lol I plan to scope them out this weekend to confirm if she's laying or not 😅 though I am a little scared of watching them drop an egg. Sometimes the EE lays extra large eggs 😬
Yes yes yes!!! I must've spent $600 building thir coop only to turn into just a run and let them free range when we're home. Plus the monthly feed and medication when needed. It's just I and my young son, and our bully. We have 4 hens, only 3 lay as 1 is a late bloomer, and we collect 17-19 eggs...
I may be crazy but the egg to the left has ablue hue vs the egg to the right has a green hue. The EE that has been laying lays the blue hue eggs and same as yours, is consistent. So this makes me think maybe the younger EE is finally laying ???
I didn't 😮💨 I caught a flu and was out of commission all of last week til today. I'll likely place the order for Oct. 31... funny, all my girls are holiday babies 😅
