Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Dang.. I was afraid of that. I even initially was going to say it, but I was hoping. Birds are about 3 months old, so getting close to knowing for sure. Didn't know about the dark on the wings, will need to start using that sign as well. Thank you!

Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Hey there. I have nine chickens we are trying to decipher. Ameraucanas to be sure, but of the nine, I think 5 are roosters, which make sense. Still, I figured I would ask here since they aren't the easiest for me to figure out until they are all crowing (I want to keep 1 rooster for the flock)...

Suggestions on Vitamins to help with Rye Neck

So our pullet did ok with what we gave her (antibiotics and something else) as well as a dewormer. Also, gave her vitamins and hand fed. She finally got to the point where I put her outside and was going to let nature run its course. She got better! She was great for about a week and is back...

Suggestions on Vitamins to help with Rye Neck

Thanks so much! Our vet said there is no real way to tell what is causing it unless they pass and you test their body. Mareks is not as likely as some of the other causes because she isn't having tons of symptoms of Mareks (thank goodness). We are treating for bacterial and anti-inflams in...

Suggestions on Vitamins to help with Rye Neck

My 6 month old Welsummer came down with a Rye Neck a few days ago. She went 36 hours without eating or drinking so I took her to a vet. We are on 3 meds, syringe feeds and TLC. If she isn't better in a few days we will Euthanize her and test her to find out whats wrong. I DO NOT want to...

    MARYLAND THREAD!

http://nocrowroostercollars.com It isn't perfect, they still crow, but much more quietly than without. As for eating, we ate too since we couldn't find a home, but he was much tougher meat since he got old enough to really fill out. Chicken dumplings and we still noticed it, so just be warned.

Roo, my beautiful Welsummer, needs a new home from Aberdeen, MD

I have a cockeral that was supposed to be a pullet. Normally this would be ok as the no crow collar works perfectly fine (lowers it quite a bit), but he has started to act a bit more like a rooster recently. He has clawed my daughter when held wrong (when I watch, he has never clawed her when...

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Just let me know. I know both my wife and especially my daughter will be much happier to know he is going to a home instead of a pot.

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Looking for a good home for my Roo. He is about 5 months old and just starting to come into his prime. He is a Welsummer and was supposed to be a pullet, but hey, things happen. I would love to keep him, but he is starting to get a little more aggressive, nipping at me and clawing my daughter...

    How To Raise A Rooster

So, reading this thread, I am concerned a bit. I had 11 chicks the first time around, 8 of which ended up in pots because they turned into roos and I live in a nice little neighborhood. I ended up getting 3 more chicks (so integration would be easier, 3 and 3), Welsummers which are supposed to...

    MARYLAND THREAD!

The birds you are looking for are Ameraucana for the blues and Marans for the dark chocolate. There might be some other dark chocolate ones, but I am not sure. The blues are Ameraucana for sure, but you can go for Easter Eggers if you want. They tend to be half Ameraucana and half something...
