Moving to area where lake is outside, help with a duck pen

Of course, I plan on keeping them near the house at night. I had seen that foxes were seen roaming the house at night though. It’ll likely be a smaller pen, but I want to make sure they don’t go too far into the lake

Moving to area where lake is outside, help with a duck pen

Hi, so I’m currently moving to an area where we live right next to a body of water, and I don’t want to leave behind my ducks. What would you reccomend for building a pen for them out there. I should mention a decent amount of the area is slanted. I also have 4 ducks, all female. One has a...

Old duck broke leg, likely not recovering.

It’s likely going to rain this weekend. Her enclosure is mostly open, but I want to make sure she stays safe during the rain. Any ideas?

Old duck broke leg, likely not recovering.

So I have mentioned this Cayuga before, but she is currently 9 years old and suffers from arthritis. Recently, she broke her leg around the femur area, and there is very little hope she’ll be able to walk ever again. We’re not sure what exactly caused this. I don’t want to put her down. She...

2 Ducks died of tumors, one more showing signs

Update: He passed away this morning The weather was too much, and he was too weak to do anything. I feel like by the time I was debating, I think it was already too late since he felt way too light, and was acting lethargic. I want to dwell on it, but he had been showing signs for a while that...

    Duck died, mate depressed

She’s doing a little better for herself, had some arthritis but she’s healed from it. Unfortunately, the last male of the pen just died of natural causes, and now the whole pen is mourning the loss of that male. She’s more integrated now, but I’m not sure what to do now that they have no other...

2 Ducks died of tumors, one more showing signs

Update: he’s getting really light, it’s worrying. I’m not sure if he can see, although he chases off the hens in the pen if they get close.

2 Ducks died of tumors, one more showing signs

I’ve done it before, but I’m not sure if I should. He’s old but do you think it would harm him? my mom seems against the idea since he’s aging and likely stressed but he’s also starving out there.

Now the old one isn’t eating. I felt his crop and I can clearly feel his ribs. What do I do?

2 Ducks died of tumors, one more showing signs

Update: Old duck and the mate of the ducks that passed were taken to the vet. No signs of tumors in either but arthritis was found in the latter. Still, i don’t get whats wrong with them since this is too coincidental to just be age.

2 Ducks died of tumors, one more showing signs

it's okay, these two recent deaths were from a few months ago. on that subject, I don't think this is the cause of these problems but could mold be the issue? I have lots of hay around the pen, and it's been raining for a while. Should I change that at all? My current theory is that it's...

2 Ducks died of tumors, one more showing signs

I did for the first one, it came back with liver and testicular cancer. We first assumed it was bird flu, but it seems other ducks have been showing signs of this issue now and it's scaring me. Especially since this is our last male, one I've had since I was a child. Any help would I would be...

2 Ducks died of tumors, one more showing signs

Hi, so for the past couple of months, I have had very alarming concerns with my ducks and need help badly. I have 5 ducks right now, but 2 died in the past couple of months from what was identified as cancer. One had tumors in his testes and liver, while another had one between his wing. I have...
