    That's a good point! I normally buy the Manna Pro brand, but maybe I should try switching, as the shell is quite coarse. It never even crossed my mind that it would be too coarse for them to eat...thank you

    Thanks for all of the advice guys. I tried holding them up to a light but I'm not very experienced with the whole candling thing, so I wasn't really sure what to look for As far as I could tell, there were no living chicks, so I ended up tossing them this afternoon
