I ended up with a rooster out of the tractor supply chicks I got 4 months ago. He’s an Easter Egger, so far good disposition but I’m in town and can’t keep him.
Located in Grants Pass OR but willing to drive to get him a new home. Thanks!
These three are around 9 weeks old. I know the all brown one is an Easter egger and I’m pretty sure a girl. The others, I haven’t the foggiest. Input? Thanks!
I have a couple sweeties here that I think are both pullets but I’m a newbie and can’t tell with the brown one. Feed store impulse buys to add to my flock. Is it safe to name them Carole and Corona? Thanks!
I noticed one of my hens was kind of isolating herself when I was giving the others some treats. Dragged her out from under the deck and gave her a once over. I noticed something coming out of her vent, and pulled this out. It seems like it’s all just a soft shelled egg, but now I’m worried it’s...
I tried looking back at the 3737739283748 chicken photos on my camera roll but can’t find any of this one’s comb at around 4 weeks. However it seems it had a nonexistent comb until this last week. I’m ultra paranoid because of the 10 chicks I got, 7 have turned out to be cockerels. Thanks for...
Good idea on googling, I’ll do that. Call me crazy but chick gendering is more nerve wracking than finding out the sex of my two kids. These 4 chicks were sexed, 99% rate, so somehow I got the 1% which I guess is funny yet not.
I’ve posted a lot in this forum because I’ve been winding up with a bunch of cockerels with this batch of chicks. I *thought* this one was safely a pullet until a few days ago when the beginnings of a pink comb started emerging. Please tell me this is okay. Born on Labor Day. It’s the brown one...
Thanks for all the advice. I will be trimming and rinsing chickens today, I guess, ha! The 3 with the poopy butts are pretty docile so that helps. I really appreciate all the input, this website is such an amazing resource!
