    Lame chick covered in maggots

I agree with cull. She is injured or sick and suffering. Extending that out 3 weeks seems cruel. I bet she is safe to eat, but do you really want to eat a maggot covered chicken?

Will they all hatch at once?

This is normal. Until she gets off the eggs do nothing. If she gets off eggs, and you want them to hatch, have an incubator ready.

Help with roosters and 4 new hens

Why do you think roosters mating = mean rooster? You should get rid of all but one rooster though. Trust me, it's for the best. I tried keeping 5, then 4 then 3 then finally 2 roosters in 2 flocks that are always seperated. They will fight or chase each other, and I was getting injured hens...

Pip away from air cell 48 hours ago

I would hate to open the incubator just for photos, as its very dry here. I zipped the shell to the air sack, and the pip is on the fat end, just 180 degrees from the lowest side of air cell. There is no tear in the membrane in the air cell area. THe membrane near the pip is a bit dry, but not...

Day old chicks covered in bugs

I've noticed when I touch my day olds that my broody hatched, I get a ton of little quick moving bugs, look kinda like tony ticks. What can I do?! Here's a video of a few on my hand

Broody went to wrong nesting box.

Yeah, I kinda figured this was the case, but I really needed the other hens to stop laying under her, lol. maybe there was a better solution. I never meant for this hen house to even be for laying really, but I never was able to integrate my flocks the way I wanted. So I had a temporary laying...

Broody went to wrong nesting box.

Might be my fault, but I moved my broody over so that my other chickens would stop laying more eggs under her. She seemed fine with it, but maybe she was confused, cuz I noticed her on the wrong box today. I moved her to the other box, with the eggs in it, but they didnt feel super warm. How...

Is seeing an air pocket mean good news?

I think you are good so far then. Developing nice. If it was not in there it would be completely lit up like a lightbulb.

Ive seen worse, I have one who I thought was going to die with a similar looking, but worse, injury(I was so sure she had to be a mushy chick). SHes over a year old now, and that part of her looks quite lage and wrong now. But she is alive and happy!
