Thanks y'all! That's what I figured. I won't get to keep him if he is indeed a roo. If only I had a big farm.... :)

11 week old Olive Egger, Gender?

Hi! I hatched out a few OE'ers on May 21st, and this one is keeping me guessing. The breeder says it's a pullet, but I'm not so sure. It has Roo'ish posture, so here I am asking for opinions from you all. I really hope it's a pullet like it's sister, but we all know how that goes! Oh, and...

    The Olive-Egger thread!

Is it common for an Olive Egger to have feathered legs and a beard? I hatched out two OE 9-1/2 weeks ago, and the breeder I got the eggs from seemed to be surprised at the feathered feet AND beard. We are both excited though to see if this (hopefully) pullet lays really olive colored eggs...

The middle chick is an Easter Egger. :) I will update this! The chick slower to feather out is indeed a beautiful boy!

how long can a broody hen be off her eggs?

I have a Bantam Cochin sitting on some expensive eggs bought just for her. She is on day 8 in the coop with the flock, and so far, so good! (We DO have her vision to the outside world blocked pretty well, but she has access to the grounds if she wants.) One of my Maran hens kicks her off the...

Ok. This one I have believed is a pullet from the get go, but now she has a shiny black tail feather. What do you all think? Still a pullet?

I'm wondering how your Buff Brahma turned out? Boy or girl? I have two 8-9 weekers, and one looks a lot like yours! Ps. There are not a lot of Buff Brahma sexing threads. :)

Can someone help me sex my two Buff Brahmas, please? They are 7 weeks old in the pictures, but are now 8 weeks in real life. :) BB #1 on right. He/she has feathered out quicker than the other BB (on left). Also has a little bigger, redder comb. BB#2 Slow to feather out.

Any guesses on gender? Buff Brahma and EE

Here they are two weeks later! Now what do you think? They are about 7 weeks old now. :) I will not do their pictures in the same order as my original post only because after homeschooling all day, I don't have the organization in me. :) Buff Brahma #1. Very slow to feather out. Comb...

Hi everyone! I'm new to backyard chickens and have a Blue Maran and Bantam Cochin. LOVE my girls! I also have 4 chicks that are around 5-6 weeks old, two EE and two Buff Brahmas. I know it's fairly early to guess gender, but I'm so anxious for opinions! :) Hoping for some girls, but I have...
