Jumping in here to ask about my little black bantam Cochin - supposed to be a frizzle but she is so much smaller than the other ones that we got at the same time, and her feathers are weird. She's active and seems healthy, just looks odd. Any ideas?
I'm interested as my Wyandottes (2 years old) haven't laid in over a week now. It's late spring/early summer here in Texas so they should be laying prolifically. One of them didn't molt last fall and it looks like she might be starting to molt now (weird) but the other did molt in the fall...
Ichiro needs a new home! He is absolutely gorgeous, but I really don't want any roosters. Anyone in the DFW/North TX area interested in this 12-week-old fellow?
I was given these two chicks, told they were Leghorns, born about April 18. They're both terrified when I reach into their brooder pen. So, from the pictures, do you think they're both Leghorns (one seems to have a rose comb maybe). I'm pretty sure the single comb one is a cockerel, as someone...
Thanks. I was wondering if the different combs and different rates of feathering meant different genders, if they're both Leghorns, but I guess not. I hope my two-year-old hens will accept them into their flock.
I was given these two babies when they were 5 days old. They were born April 19, and I was told they're Leghorns. Their combs are not developing the same, so does anyone know if they're different genders? Blanche also is more feathered already and has more tail.
