Chicken women,
Do you make a batch of oatmeal and give it to your chickens or do you make individual amounts for each chicken? If individual amounts, how much oatmeal to how much garlic?
Thanks...
.
I've read that garlic steeped in water for three days makes a good wormer for chickens when used for their drinking water. So... how much garlic water will the chickens have to drink in order for it to be effective? In other words, do I leave the water for them one, two, three, etc. days.

Quill,
I would think the plastic might melt and catch fire... I was thinking of a red LED. The LED won't cost much at all to run all night and there will be no heat whatsoever. If you can't get a LED, how about a red Christmas light?
When I was young we had a neighbor that raised...
Group,
Since the chickens are kept in a confined area at night what if Quill put a red light on them so that they wouldn't see blood if there was any? I'm not talking about a heat lamp as that may make them too hot - just a red light. What are your thoughts?
steffpeck,
No the chicken wasn't rescued....
What happens is that people will give my wife chickens for odd reasons, for example, they buy their kid a little chick because they are "cute" and when the chick grows up they don't want them anymore. When we got this one she was in good health so...
Just an update....
I treated the hen with Ivermectin (as well as the rest of the birds I have - seven) and she is doing very well and running around like normal. Her legs and feet look much better and continue to heal. I would post a picture but the chickens are free range and I'm just too...
