Just merged our older and new chicks - Now we have problems

Chick is fine. We separated them again. They are all in the coop but the chicks are separate and can't go out in the fenced outside area.

Just merged our older and new chicks - Now we have problems

The chicks were just put in with the bigger chickens. We have since separated them again. They are in the coop with the chickens again but are in a fenced off area. We will wait for a while and try it again when they get bigger.

Just merged our older and new chicks - Now we have problems

My son found one chick in a hole in the dirt. He thought she was dead until he picked her up. She was bloodied and had feathers picked off of her back and wings. He put her back in our "baby pool" brooder. What so we do now as far as the other chickens? Was it the rooster or the older hens...

Cracked corn for 3 month old chicks. Yes or no?

It wouldn't be their sole diet. Just something to throw in their run as a treat with their grapes and bread.

Cracked corn for 3 month old chicks. Yes or no?

My husband was wondering if the chicks can have cracked corn. They are 3 months old. Kind of a random question but is it possible for chickens to choke on whole grapes? I always cut them in half when I give them some. It's their favorite.

From chicks to chickens - what to feed & other questions for new chick family

The coop is definitely safe. My husband built it and the wire around their run is buried a foot deep. We have a door that is attached to a rope so we can open and drop it without entering the run or the coop.

    What do we have?

I'll try and get better pictures. They are so darn fast.

    What do we have?

A pic of our chicks. Unfortunately we no longer have the white one though I would like to know what type of chick he was. One chick that can't be seen is almost all black. I can provide better pics if needed.

From chicks to chickens - what to feed & other questions for new chick family

Our chickens are now three months old and I was wondering how long do we need to feed them the medicated chick food? We give them treats almost every day - their favorite is grapes (we love to watch them chase each other). Also, do you lock your chickens in their house at night? They go in the...

Getting 3 week old chicks tomorrow

Got our chicks. We think we have 2 Rhode Island Reds and from there we are not sure. One thing we have found already is it only takes them a moment or two to fall asleep when you hold them.

Getting 3 week old chicks tomorrow

Thanks for the info. I will definitely post pictures. I don't think we know what kind they will be so we may need help identifying them. So excited!!

Getting 3 week old chicks tomorrow

We are finally getting our chicks tomorrow and there are 3 weeks old. Have a brooder set up in the garage. Do I still need to keep them at 95 degrees or cooler? And once they are feathered out we can put them in the coop and not let them out in the run if its too cool? We are newbies at this...
