Any ideas on what might be wrong?

@Wyorp Rock, she had made progress and is eating more, but every morning it still feels like a golf ball. I decided to keep her inside because she goes straight for the grass when she is out. At what point do I decide I need to take her to the vet? She is acting ok, but there must still be some...

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

I am continuing to clean and redress her foot daily. 😁 It is dressed with gauze and cohesive bandage tape. I have found (when dressing chickens' feet, camouflage print is a God send!) Neither the patient or other hens seem to pay any attention to it. I've used other colors and they all want to...

I was suspicious, too... So I pulled that out and is was a thick, fibrous blade of grass with roots. I am hoping that was the reason for the blockage. The grass in their run is short, but she must have gotten that one pulled out. I tried to give her straight coconut oil and she would have...

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Update for tonight: She has been very good about drinking water on her own and I had success with coconut oil when I mixed it with her feed (I turned it to a mash first by mixing with water). She has enough of an appetite it get some down without forcing it. She has gotten lots of cuddle time on...

Thank you. I will let you know how we do! Chicken hotel and spa day (or days) here we come. I am relieved to find a reason for her distress! Now I can help her. 😊

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Bingo! Her crop is so full. Oh my goodness. I feel terrible that she is been this way for days! I was checking her crop during the day to check if she was eating. I didn't realize it was not emptying since I thought her foor was the issue. Ugh, poor girl! It is hard and HUGE! I hope I can get...

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Here are the pics I could get... since it's dark out. I get outside pictures tomorrow. The scabs on her toe and foot pad were where we removed a few thick scales on Friday, thinking we may get some drainage (if it was infected). Pink tissue was all that was found.

If you Google Filiform Wart (in humans) that is exactly what it looks like. I can't find any articles about this virus in chickens, but it is identical in appearance.

I can get photos tomorrow, Mondays and Tuesdays I leave before sunrise and get home after dark. She is eating and pooping ok. I feed them Purina Layena Pellets. She was hatched this spring and had been laying. My flock egg production is down a bit right now due to short days and I can not tell...

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

I want to add that I am cleaning it daily, applying ointment and dressing it. I there are no wounds and it is affecting both her toe AND the pad of her foot. I am worried because she is lethargic and clearly unwell. I have effectively cared for injured birds and am treating it as such, but I...

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

These pictures were taken Friday. I've been cleaning her foot every evening (once she is in the coop) and keeping it wrapped with ointment on it. I've not seen any change. I will definitely keep that up. Good idea about feeding her some scrambled eggs.

I'm thinking an antibiotic is my next step, if I don't see improvement. I've had it wrapped. It is in 2 places though.

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

I've had it wrapped up for a couple days with antibiotic ointment slathered on. So it's nice and soft now, but still no apparent wound-like areas. The thing that's strange is the very back of the pad of her foot it doing the same thing.
