Duck eggs dying during lockdown
I just had 8 out of 20 duck eggs die during lockdown. They were fine 3 days ago when I moved them from incubator to hatcher. Hatcher is an incubator set at 97ish with 90ish humidity. Heron ate our ducklings..
We had a mallard hatch out 4 babies yesterday and she took them to the pond right away. A heron landed later that day and she returned home alone. We can only assume the heron ate all 4 ducklings. We are heartbroken.. -

Snapping Turtle and Crows as Predators??
Has anyone else had a problem with snapping turtles in their pond ? We lost a duck to a snapper and can't seem to get rid of it. Also we seem to have crows landing in our pastures and eating our duck eggs. Anyone have any ideas?? -
Is the upright Runner stance a dominant or recessive trait?

We are in Vt and get $4 per dozen to bakeries, and $4.50 per dozen to food co-op, but they mark it up to $6 per dozen.
