    I am not a builder, designer, etc. I need help figuring out what to do here. I have one larger coop that I purchased about a year ago from craigslist. It has been housing 2 hens. Then we purchased 4 chicks 3 weeks ago. It was supposed to be 2 and somehow became 4... I have a wonderful friend...

    Thank u for the suggestion @hope4rainbow :-) it's a possibility that it happened from pecking. I don't know. I bought her about 4 days ago and I believe she was hand raised with 4 other chicks. But I don't know much after that.

    I just bought this hen and was told she's a rose comb brown leghorn. But she lays brown eggs with speckles. So is she a different breed? Or a cross? Thanks for all your help!

    I think it would be best for her to know you have found the chickens on your property. If she wants them back, she should come over and get them. You can show her your coop and explain how you are able to keep predators away, etc, etc. It just seems wrong to go behind her back and give them to...

    Thank you all. I have read that a lot of chicken keepers like sevin because it does treat the infestation. My hen had lice all over her. She usually isn't picked up but she did let me pet her here and there. After the dusting she runs as soon as I try to pet her. But she still follows me around...

    We have a deck that is open underneath. Theres lots of sand (we live in Florida) and they like to dust bathe there. Where can I buy wood ash? Should I put it in a tub of some sort for them to use?
