I am relieved to hear the news - yay! I have actually been most worried about the light colored one. She has HUGE legs and lately it seems like all her tail feathers are getting pretty dark at the end and developing pointed ends. I so want blue Marans and dark eggs.
Thanks for the reply! Any idea why they would all have a colored feather on the body? One is half copper (crooked combed) one half green (straight combed, dark) and one half purple sheened (straight combed light)?
I am unsure the gender of these three Blue CM's. They are 9 weeks old. Three emerging half feathers, one copper one green and one purple - have been found (one on each bird). I have my suspicions but their combs and wattles aren't very big. I would appreciate someone else's eye and...

Waiting is the killer, but I think you're right - when I went to check on her the next day the large upward tail feather had come out! haha Guess that was just to torture me into questioning her status again.... ;)
I hope so! We should know for sure in a month or so (when she would be developing saddle feathers - if a cockerel). She has been a mystery since she was little.
Yes, it definitely creates the optical illusion - with my GL as well. The neck feathers are about half and half (some smaller...
This bird is 14 weeks old as of yesterday. When I went out this morning to take pics, I see a some major signs that this may be a cockerel (pointy neck feathers, pattern development on wings, upward feather on the tail and several underneath growing straight up. irridescence on the neck/upper...
