I'm not saying what it looks like to me

But have you seen a comb like this? I presume it has to be some version of cushion but it's weird.

The base looks like a Wyandotte's (rose comb) and then the top looks like tHe top of some Pea combs - cool.

I have never seen one with both types!

Little EEs are just over four weeks now. I suspect the grey one is a cockerel. They both seem to have lacing. I think the grey one might be a splash of some kind as I can see patches of darker color. The dark one I'm not sure about. I think it must be a dark blue since the parents are a blue and a splash; so that would rule out it being black.

Does anyone have a picture of a welsummer X legbar hen or rooster?

I just got a couple chicks from a lady that are this cross, i'd love to see what they will look like as adults. She did show me a picture but i'd also like to see yours if you have it!

A legbar hen to a Welsummer rooster would produce non-typical black sexlinks. Only the males will inherit the barring. Females will look similar to purebred Welsummer hens, since both breeds are basically the same color/pattern genetics with the exception of the barring gene.

To add to the confusion over this weird comb, the color is evening out to a darkish blue and the neck feathers I thought would be dark actually are silver with patterning. The feather shafts on the chest are silver and there is a subtle lace effect. The wings have gold centers on the feathers and (yay!) no interruption to the pattern on the bow. So, it's blue birchen-ish? Gotta Love a girl with a few good surprises...
