Totally worth it. A coop at tractor supply is $200. This is larger coop with some additional accessories. Factor in your time that you would have spent gathering supplies and then building something yourself... a steal.
New Oxford isn't too far from me. Howdy neighbor.
Many thanks for the input. I've left the brooder plate on since this morning and it was at temperature this afternoon. Chicks are happily chirping about. Many thanks to all who assauged this overfunctioning new chicken lady.
Our first chicks are coming today! Last night my husband and I set up their brooder with gleeful anticipation. We purchased a Titan brooder plate from Amazon. Luckily I had the foresight to plug it in that night to see how it worked...
Before bed we checked on the plate to see how hot it got...
Installing more no climb wire in another portion of our pasture. Finished 200’ out of 800’ . The weather has finally cooled down in the northeast, so this is a pleasurable chore. Horses enjoy supervising and inspecting.
I second the suggestion for metal zip ties. We ordered them on Amazon, $10 for 100. We used it to affix no climb wire to t posts. Still going strong, won’t have issues with breakage.
Hi Ridgerunner!

Thank you for...
Hi Delaney!
We currently have 3 rocky mountain horses. The breed is considered an engangered species! I have two black geldings (3 and 6 years old), and a chestnut mare (2) that I just positively adore. They're in a mixed herd. Perhaps the friendliest horses I've ever had. I am planning to...
Presently working on putting together an area for chickens for supervised free ranging. Area will be approximately 40'X40', can easily go larger if necessary. Planning on utilizing some existing fencing that I use for my horses, which includes 6' capped t posts, and no climb wire (buried some as...
