Just wanted to follow-up that I am very pleased with Molly's. Of course, I still put garlic and periodic ACV in their water, too; but I feel confident that MOlly's gives that extra bit of insurance against worms. we haven't come across anymore in our butchering since we began using it.
I mix it...
I don't know how to post pictures. Should I dunk in sulfer again? That has worked tremendously well for mites in the past.
It could be an infection. I have antibiotics, but I hesitate to give that unless I'm sure.
Hopefully, someone can help. Our hen was mated with excessively by our roo, breaking her feathers off; so we removed her. Then, on her back at the root of the feathers started a red and swelling bump. Now, she has 4 of these swollen areas situated on her skin at the root of the feather. They are...
I don't know if the others had coccidosis or not; they haven't shown any of the symptoms of what my two little ones did.
That's the problem - I just don't know. I'm going to be calling the store to ask them if they've had any issues with their batch.
I'll see if I can get some corid just to...
HOpefully someone can give me some guidance. Three chicks hatched between Sun. morn and Mon. morn. Since we wanted more than what hatched, Monday afternoon, we went and bought some more little ones (5 days-1 week olds) locally. By late that evening, our youngest hatched had begun to be...
Thanks; that really makes me feel much better. I have to show him some grace as he was the one that did the gutting and found it in the hen and
it was his first time finding something when doing this; so I'll give him a break. However, I'll go ahead and cook them more thoroughly than usual; my...
I am withholding eggs for the full 14 day period after each treatment of Valpezen.
Do you know how long before one can butcher? I have two that need culling.
DO you have any opinions or info. concerning eating chickens of which you are unsure? I have two in the freezer that were part of...
We have recently discovered that some of our chickens have roundworms. They are all healthy and actually laying better than they have in while. However, I am going to deworm all of them.
My two questions are can we safely eat the eggs we have up to the deworming - boiled for deviled eggs and...
I just wanted to confirm that the eggs are fine to use considering this last comment above. I agree in breaking open the egg first, but I always do that anyway to kosher the eggs. I read that it is rare that a roundworm will enter the ovaduct area. HOwever, I can't do that if I were to make...

We are pretty sure that it's a roundworm; definitely not a tapeworm. I went and checked some feces outside and saw some eggs there, too; not on everyone's but on a couple. So some have enough to show in their poo and others do not. I've decided to give a (hopefully) one time treatment of...
I'm sorry you've had such a bad Roo day. Sounds like Gimp definitely won the fight.
I can't answer your question; other than a guess of not necessarily. Hopefully someone else can help with that.
We've decided to remove our Big Buff as he was getting pecked up by the other hens and pullets-on...
