I want to apologize for the typing mistakes. My keyboard sticks a lot and when I think the beginning letters in a sentence are capitilized, they aren't. If I don't go back and read over the article which I rarely don't do, then that is what happens. I apologize for my sloppy typing!

Happy Labor Day Weedend! the article is excellent, good job. My Red Star hen lives with me in my home in a wonderful mobile home community. she wears a diaper purchased on Etsy and is a true joy. Even though she lives inside, I loved seeing all the coop designs especially the first one, very...

Help me convince DH to keep a roo

I've never had a rooster, but you can buy hen protectors from chewy.com. They're like little saddle, very nicely made, that protects the back of the chickens from rowdy roosters. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your comments about my beloved Peepers. I'll never forget her. I have now, though, gotten a week old at the time, Red Star from Rural King in Leesurg, FL. I named her Fancy and she is another incredible chick at just two weeks old. They are sexed, given vaccine against...

How often do you hold your chicks or chickens to make them love it?

I think that holding them, gently petting them and making them feel comfortable in your hand is a great thing. I have a special ISA 2 week old that loves for me to hold her. Just like any baby animal, foals, calves, etc., the more they associate you with something nice, and the earlier you...

Excellent, thank you so much! That was a great explanation and I am definitely going to get another Red Star. Peepers was the joy in my daily life, a source of laughter every day. Now I know she was a real Red Star! I knew that from the start but then ome one questioned it and put me in a state...

I really like Red Stars and I wonder why they aren't mentioned very often. 'Peepers' was as good a pet as they come. I got her at a few days old at 1.8 ounces and she laid 97 large, brown eggs, from February 15th, on an organic feed, until she unexpectedly passed away on June 14th, 2021. She...

    indoor pet rooster problem

She doesn't know any different because I got her at 1.2 ounces, so she really hadn't had time to imprint that long on the other chicks. She is such a beloved member of my home and she seems perfectly content and has laid 97 eggs!

Sorry if helpful advice isn't nice. It's so simple to put in a period at the end of a sentence. Maybe Mr. Fluffy Pants will gain a bit of understanding that it would be so much nicer and so much easier to read his long and good story if it had a few punctuation marks, that's all.

It might be nice if you put some punctuation in your story so it would be easier to read. You see that dot on the lower right hand side of you computer? That's a period.

I totally disagree with that statement. I have an 8 month old Red Star that I've had since she was 1.2 ounces. She has laid over 90 eggs! I take her for rides on my mobility scooter, twice a day which she LOVES and never ever tries to fly off. We stop at certain places where she can get off and...

    Thin Red Star Hen

Thank you so much. I'm going to go to Tractor Supply and get her some cracked corn, and to the grocery store for some wheat flakes. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. I feel a bit more relieved now. SSincerely, Marcia
