1 hen in flock has diarrhea.

I'm not very familiar with chickens , but I do know a few people who are @Eggcessive @casportpony @Wyorp Rock .

What are you feeding her? Is she eating/drinking? Is she showing any other symptoms?
She's very active, eating and drinking normally. I put a little Pedialyte in her drinking water for the electolytes, after she got the diarrhea. She was on Purina's medicated Chick Starter, but just a coule of days ago I switched her (intergrated the new feed with her usual feed) to Pen Pal starter and grower. She's 8 weeks old now and weighs one pound

I have the same problem with an 8 week old, one pound baby chicken. I can't get a straight answer anywhere including this site. She was on Medicated feed so I don't think she has coccideosis. but her poop is brown and goopy. CAN I GIVE HER KAOPECTATE OR PEPTO BISMAL, ANYBODY???
No I would not give her those medicines. That is a lot of mucus, so I would go ahead and treat her with Corid for 5-7 days. Probiotics would be good to use after.

What is corid and where can I buy it? It doesn't look like a lot of mucus, it looks very watery. And is Corid for coccidiosis? I got her from Tractor Supply at two days of age and she was absolutely normal until lately. She's not a hen in a flock, by the way. Harriet is one pet who lives in the house, goes outside with me at least twice, usually 3 times a day and is very neatly taken care of. By the way. she was on Purina's Medicated chick feed and starter until just a couple of days ago, so wouldn't that have killed the coccidia? And thank you for replying.

Can you please post a photo of the Nutritional Analysis of the Pen Pal Starter/Grower - there should have been a paper label attached to the bottom of your bag - can we see that?

Corid can be found in the Cattle Section of Tractor Supply.
