Help ....Noticed large blister on hens foot

My daughter just sent me a picture of a large blister that has shown up on the topside of one of my hen's feet. She is walking just fine with no limp. Not sure what caused this or what to do to help her. She is a Buff Orpington and is a little over a year old, weighs about 7lb - 8lb.

Is there anyone who butchers/processes chickens & turkeys in SE Texas?

Thanks for the responses. I guess it's time for me to learn how to do the deed myself....ughhhh. I was hoping one of the local 4H FFA clubs could do it but no luck yet.

Is there anyone who butchers/processes chickens & turkeys in SE Texas?

Is there anyone who knows of someone that will do the killing and processing of chickens and turkeys? I'm looking to raise up some meat birds and turkeys but I am not set up to do all the processing of the birds. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi ... call me Newbie

Hello all! My name is Michele and I am married with 3 children and live in Southeast Texas. I have wanted to raise chickens and live on a farm since I was potty trained. I spent 5 years trying to convince my husband that we needed chickens for fresh eggs. I threw every angle at him, like...

    Rooster comb

Was he exposed to freezing temps for a long period of time (touch of frost bite) or are you experiencing some mosquitoes in the area where you live (dry pox)? If it is dry pox (from mosquitoes) he will clear up in a couple of weeks and only will get dry pox once. If it is a little frost...

    Help! Chicken eating eggs

How do I get my Buff Orpington hen to stop eating eggs? Doesn't do it everyday, but at least 2-3 times in a week. I work, so I gather any eggs before I go to work, when I get home and then one more time when I close up the coop for the night. Advice is welcomed.
