For the past month I've been noticing these white spots (they can be seen more clearly laying over the yolk). This particular egg had more than usual. The bigger black dots are air normal bubbles- on the skillet!! :).
I have been throwing the eggs away when I see these. I have not...
I don't think this is what you meant by "chicken topped too much" but this is the search results!! I'm getting hungry now..
I wasn't able to find pictures but did find a couple discussions in these forums about the rooster hurting the girls. They suggested trimming his claws and taking...
Any help identifying problem?
Mh hens have had raw lower backs for most of this year. Particularly my 2 black australorps who are also a bit raw on the backs of their necks. I have not seen any bugs or eggs on them but it looks like they're gnawing off their feathers. Themselves or each others.

It's funny I just found this thread today - just a couple days since you tried bringing it back to life. I am a new chicken owner and loving it. It's fun and rewarding. I live about 45 minutes south of St. Louis (Illinois side). I have 2 black australorp hens, 2 ameraucana hens and a...
I am a new owner of some 6 month old (or so) hens. They are all very healthy and laying. It seems one of them is laying eggs with a yolk that is watery (when I break open eggs over easy). It is mostly a great looking yellow yolk, but on my plate there is maybe 1/4 the moisture that is clear...
