    muscovy ducks

When you say that the only drake you had that was mean was a hand raised one, do you mean raised in a brooder instead by by a duck? does that mean you wouldn't buy ducklings to start?

    muscovy ducks

Yes, I would still have a drake with Khakis I would hatch some to keep my little flock going ( i have a sportsman if they don't set) but I have 4 standard poodles, and I thought I could scramble the eggs to use as dog food for them.

    muscovy ducks

I would like to have a few Muscovy hens that walk around the yard, graze eat bugs, lay eggs. I would also like to keep a drake, but I understand they can be rough on the hens and nasty with people. Not interested in that. Would it be possible to free range the hens, and pen the drake...

    Turkey Color Genetics Lessons

If I were to purchase a few of the commercial white hen turkeys from the feed store this spring and raise them and put one of my beltsville small white males on them, would they breed? They would make a larger white turkey I think.

    Turkey Color Genetics Lessons

This year I have to limit myself to local sales. I live in New Brunswick Canada. The American Hatcheries can't ship directly into Canada. we can usually go to Maine and pick up an order, but this year because of Covid the border is closed.

Thank -you. That is very helpful. I wouldn't mind having a flock of red bronze, instead of whites, but they are more complicated are they not? because they don't breed true?

    Turkey Color Genetics Lessons

I don't know where to get Holland whites. I have 4 Beltsville hens and two toms, and a Red bourbon tom. I would be happy with red burbons but can't find many of them around my area either.

    Turkey Color Genetics Lessons

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would take a chance that someone might answer, and know. I want to create a heritage cross that is bigger than a beltsville white, but eventually will still be white. I plan to cross my beltsville hens with red bourbon toms. I am going to guess...

    new to turkeys

I Have and 8x12x6 dog kennel made out of chain link, and I was going to attach it to their pen, and build a car port type roof over it, and maybe a soild wall on the north side to block the wind.

    new to turkeys

Part of my issue is the Canadian winter. When it is -30 and 4 feet of snow give or take they are probably going to want a pen. So maybe they each need their own pen.

    new to turkeys

Hi I am completely new to turkeys. I purchased a pair of royal palm turkeys a couple of weeks ago which have been running loose in the horse barn since then. I want to build them a pen/stall tomorrow. I am thinking 5x8. I was reading a book online that said small turkeys needed about 12...

    housing bantam leghorns

I am wanting to build small breeding pens/ buildings for Dark brown leghorn exhibition breeders. The chicks I have seem like they will fly quite well, so I am thinking a dropping board 2 feet above the floor with a roost 6 inches above that. The breeding groups will be set up as 4 females...
