I had a groundhog den on a hillside in our back yard. My downspout drain runs right past it. I put the black flex hose into his hole and it flooded him wherever it rained. He made a new main entrance about 5 feet away so I then moved the hose to that hole. About a month (and several rain...

Just went through a bout with what I believe is gaping worm. I followed others and some vet's suggestion and used horse wormer (with Ivermectin) just used a "bit smaller than a pea" dose and the bantam who had it seems cured in 48 hours - a complete turnaround. Anyone sure of the gender?

Thanks for the assessment. It is obviously a barred rock, and in the back of my mind I was wishing for a hen but it sure looked like a cock. Anybody near Putnam County NY want a barred rock soon-to-be rooster? Mark

Sharp short shriek or bark noise - beak open like swallowing?

Doubt it's a cough, maybe I explained it wrong. It sounds just like you would imagine if someone stepped right on her. Loud and shrill! I have also noticed that she is whimpering or whining quite a bit with her beak open. She looks fine in every other way however. I am mystified.
