Ended Official BYC Contest—Post Your Best (Worst) Chicken Molt Pictures - 2021

My other heavier molter, Heizel. She kept running away when I was trying to take her photo. I think she thought I’d touch her. Poor baby. Non-Frizzle

My girls are starting their first molts. This is Bean. She is tiny compared to our other girls but has BIG personality. So we say she’s our Spicy Black Bean. 😊 Non-Frizzle

Anyone know what breed this white pullet is?

I was going to say the same. She looks just like our Easter Egger, Daisy. 💕

I'm so sorry to hear this. It is hard to lose one of your flock.

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Thank you. It is just nice to read about others’ flocks and know this is a place they’re loved and valued for just being chickens. They’re so smart and fun. Raven was our most curious and adventurous of the flock. She loved my 14 year old. They had a very special bond - from the time she...

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

    Lethargic Pullet

It truly was touch and go for days. We almost lost her. So she’s definitely not out of the woods. The poo does look odd. I know Alice’s was strange too sometimes pure water sometimes not. We never knew what we’d see. It would be good to know what caused her back up. It could be worms or...

How do I get my flock to move in to their new hen house?

We put a light inside ours- when it started to get dark they went inside where the light was. We only had 1-2 a night the first couple nights we had to go get and put inside. Once they were inside we turned off the light. They were “home” in less than a week.

    Lethargic Pullet

If her crop was hard in the morning it probably was an impacted crop. It may take her a few days to rebound. I had 1 in our house for a week before she was back to herself. We put a little bit of honey in her water to get her something that would give her a little more energy. Also gave her...
