How To Get Chickens To Stop Pecking Another Chicken?

I blue-coated until my white chicken was purple from head to toe :) The local guys down at the feed store told me there was NO WAY I was going save my girl, that she had already become bottom-of-the-pecking-order, and that I should take her up for auction to gaive her a chance. Ha! Second time...

    Molt, pecking, freaking me out!

Hi, I have a chick (Brahma) that began blowing feathers about 2 weeks ago. She was almost immediatly targeted by the other hens (all 5 of them though mostly the Black Australorp) and quickly became a bloody mess. We do not have the ability to separate her. We had her for a time in a dog kennel...

    coccidiosis???

Is it possible my little girl has coccidiosis? She is over a year old, but has all the symptoms I think. Not sure about the bloody poo. It seems more yolk-colored than bloody.

    Please help! I'm very sad:(

You can also get the meds into her with a syringe if she won't drink it.

    Lethargic Hen

She has dried egg yolk on her foot, and I'm thinking maybe she was...

Creepy Marcia laying even creepier eggs at night...

I was really hoping you had an answer to this as one of my chickies has started doing the exact same thing, just this past week! We opened the coop door and an egg dropped out (our door is in the floor), and broke, and they all jumped on it and ate it. I was very worried because I don't want...

Roost bars and nesting box too close?

Oh I hope it's not necessary to heat the coop! I live in NY state, and we go down into the teens and occasionally dip under 0, and I had no intention of heating my coop. Weathering it yes, and some type of insulation as we approach winter, but how can I heat a coop far from the house? I'm not...
