    Heat stroke maybe?

I used a blow dryer. It's still wobbly when I set it down, so it's upstairs with my daughter. Probably keep it there for the night. It's really really happy though. All the other chickens already went to the coop and it's mom - she rarely remembers she even had it so she's no help. Thank you!

    Heat stroke maybe?

It's feathers are saturated with water and the towel doesn't seem to be drying it. Should I use a blow dryer on low?. I think it's face is burned too.

    Heat stroke maybe?

So I went to put more water in the cow trough and discovered a chick in it. Chick is about 3 to 4 months old. (Still sounds like a baby chick) It must have fallen in and I have no idea how long it's been in there. It got to about 81 degrees F today and I noticed the water was kind of warm when I...

Chick acting like something suddenly scared it

I have a rescued chick. He's a bit older with full feathers, but he still makes chick noises. He was rescued because I had two hens fighting over the same nest and they were killing the chicks as they hatched. We raised him inside the house with us as a result. The problem is that he acts really...

I Messed Up Collecting Eggs! Sound Coming From Dumpster...

I can't believe it pulled through! My husband had previously worked on a chainsaw so there was rags with grease, oil, and gas all over them in the dumpster.

I Messed Up Collecting Eggs! Sound Coming From Dumpster...

This morning I collected eggs. A few were really dirty and I didn't feel like cleaning them so I put them in the dumpster. About an hour later I hear sounds like a baby bird peeping from the dumpster. I carefully take all the garbage out. I can hear it a little bit every now and then. I get a...

    Injured Roosters

So I guess it's normal for them to have their own little groups within a flock.

    Injured Roosters

Update: Success! Success! I got the youngest group out of the coop. Others are still up on the second floor roosts. I got the youngest group out of the coop with their mom. Lastly I got Hae Hae into the coop. I tried getting him into the separate area of the coop with no luck so far. Then the...

    Injured Roosters

What will a game plan look like to keep them from fighting again? They were raised together. Cornelius has always been the dominant rooster. They've had a few spats in the past, but they were very brief. It usually happened when Hae Hae was with a hen and Cornelius would just run him off. Now...

    Injured Roosters

When I first saw the situation of Cornelius on the other side of the fence he had somehow gotten his foot stuck. Hae Hae was taking advantage of the situation. I ran over and chased Hae Hae away. Cornelius's head slowly drooped down and looked like he was dead. Then I saw his eye blink. He also...

    Injured Roosters

My roosters a barred rock (Cornelius) and a younger Rhode Island red (Hae Hae) have always gotten along. then yesterday Cornelius went onto the neighbors side of the fence into another pasture. Cornelius can't figure out how to get back onto our side of the fence. Meanwhile Hae Hae decided to...

    Hello!

I'm a long time reader of this site and now its my first time participating. I decided to follow the premade template for introductions. (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I consider myself new to chickens. I've taken care of other people's chickens while they are...
