Could your hens be molting? Right now my chickens are on strike. I'm getting maybe 4 eggs a week from 6 hens. Several of them just finished being broody, and some are molting so I know that is why they aren't laying.
Do they free range, do you keep crushed egg shells or oyster shell out for them?
How big is your coop going to be and how many chickadees do you have? Designing your coop is always fun, but it's super exciting when you finally see it coming together!! Eagerly awaiting pics......
Sometimes it depends on the breed. My Bantams are always the first to hatch out, whereas Orpington and such always take forever to hatch. Not always, just that is generally how it works out.
