If your neighbors are cool with it you should have no problem as long as you don't have any roosters. Barking dogs are much more of a pest. Nothing wrong with a little bit of healthy civil disobedience.

I did all of the following:
-segregated the hen for a few days
-darkened the nest boxes with a curtain
-used golf balls in nests and with segregated chicken
-bumped up the protein level
